2024-2025 Competition Information

Below, please find some important information…

• competition dance requires a serious commitment.

• excellent attendance is required to participate in competition.

• more than 3 absences between October and December will result in being removed from competition class

• more than 3 absences between January and spring break will result in being removed from competition class

• your fellow dancers are your teammates. Think of competition teams as though you were playing a school or club sport.

• being absent affects everyone involved in the class….your fellow dancers, your choreography, the pace in which a class progresses, and the pace in which a dance is taught. Absences can also interfere with the class dynamic. Please keep that in mind when deciding to participate in competition classes

• competition is a financial commitment. Additional costuming can be required, extra practices not currently listed on the calendar can pop up. Competition fees are required. Please note that competition fees are determined by the competition company. The Cassidy Dance Studio does not set these fees and they cannot be refunded once submitted

• competition dancers will be required to have specific items (leotards, tights, shoes, undergarments, etc.). These items are listed below in the MUST HAVES button

• competition dancers are expected to participate in Winterfest, street fairs, art fairs, the 4th of July parade, etc.

• if your dancer auditions for a class and does not “make it” or “move up” this is nothing personal. This simply means that they are not ready for that class. Please be aware that all of the teachers keep an eye on all of our students and will make recommendations throughout the year!
